Property Accountant

Description

We are seeking a Property Accountant to join our team in New York, New York. This role involves managing financial aspects of commercial real estate entities, including financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and closings. The successful candidate will also have a crucial role in updating schedules and preparing for Year-End Audits.
Responsibilities:
• Manage financial statements, reconciliations, and closings for 5-6 entities
• Perform balance sheet analysis and update schedules as needed
• Prepare for Year-End Audit in a timely and efficient manner
• Report directly to CFO & COO, ensuring clear and accurate financial communication
• Utilize skills in Financial Statement Preparation, Month End Close, and Year-end Close
• Work autonomously, demonstrating the ability to ask questions and seek guidance as needed
• Handle any other duties relevant to the role of Property Accountant.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Property Accountant role or similar.
• Proficient in Financial Statement Preparation.
• Experience with Month End Close procedures.
• Familiarity with Year-end Close procedures.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required.
• Familiarity with accounting software and databases.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Certification such as CPA may be advantageous.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines.
