Description
Our client is a prominent healthcare organization located in a central area of the Bronx, New York. They serve as an academic health system, partnering with a local medical school and a renowned college of medicine. The health system includes two primary care centers, two faculty practice locations, and an on-site Ambulatory Care Center.
Our client is looking for a full-time Controller to join their Accounting Division and manage accounting and financial processes. Reporting to senior finance leadership, this role will oversee daily accounting and finance operations, as well as guide accounting policy and system enhancements. Requirements
Key Technical Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial reporting activities, including monthly and annual financial statements, and conduct real-time variance analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage daily finance operations to ensure precise financial reporting and compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate and support US GAAP & ERISA independent audits, including preparing consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules, and variance reporting, with the ability to address any findings.
- Oversee various state and federal tax functions and ensure compliance with IRS regulations, including annual 990 tax returns, CHAR 500 & 1120 filings for the health system and its subsidiaries.
- Collaborate with international partners on the organization’s foreign Captive Insurance Program and oversee the reconciliation of accounts.
- Support senior finance leadership by participating in or leading special projects or analyses.
- Identify opportunities for increased efficiency and supervise improvements to internal controls and operating procedures.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Strong commitment to the vision, mission, and values of our client.
- A bachelor’s or graduate degree/certification in Accounting/Finance.
- Public Accounting and Healthcare experience preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of experience as a financial manager required.
- Advanced experience with Oracle and Microsoft Office, with heavy Excel usage.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, when working with internal and external teams.
