Position Summary
The Senior Associate Director of Media Production will work directly with SPS stakeholders to create assets that support promotional and marketing efforts of the school. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the mission of digital and online education and will support the design and delivery of rigorous, innovative educational experiences.
Responsibilities
Planning and Leading Production
- Independently produce valuable content and, in that capacity, manage and execute all phases of media creation: pre-production, production, and post-production
- Manage production processes that may include: media planning, scripting, coordinating participants, arranging shoot schedule and locations, proper transportation, equipment set up, shooting, wrapping of equipment, editing, and communicating with outside
vendors such as captioning service - Provide accurate tracking of the progress of projects
Partnering on Team Leadership
- Play a lead role in the management and innovation of the media team ecosystem
- Think critically about workflow and practice to help identify creative solutions for process improvements
- Independently identify valuable content that aligns with pre-determined goals and priorities defined by the Senior Director of Media Production
- Utilize creative decision-making about the incorporation of new and existing media formats
- Lead the Media team in implementation and execution of new tools and technologies
Supporting Curriculum Design and Delivery
- Work with SPS stakeholders to manage the creation of visual and audio assets for online courses, supporting partner relationships and promotional materials
- Create successful media assets in support of determined learning and communications objectives
- Help determine the role of media in course designs
- Support the Online Curriculum and Instruction team in an ongoing effort to incorporate new technologies and achieve the goals of Academic Affairs
Fostering and Maintaining Partner Relations
- Work within appropriate standards to facilitate excellent support and maintenance of relationships with partner schools or others requesting our services
- Effectively represent our team in a professional manner with great attention to detail
- Foster relationship development and expansion of the SPS network
- May be responsible for all aspects of vendor contracting and management related to specific projects delegated by the Senior Director of Media Production
Implementing and Upholding Best Practices
- Incorporate widely accepted best practices for risk management and compliance with the American Disabilities Act, Fair Use Standards, FERPA, etcetera
- Investigate best practice examples for media production
Other
- Will be responsible for supervising the work of one (1) or more employees
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned or requested
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- 4 years of related experience
- A resume and cover letter with salary requirements must be submitted for applicant to be considered for the position
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the production of commercial and/or marketing materials for clients in a variety of industries
- Previous experience with instructional design; specifically, ability to create innovative media plans and assets to support evidence-based instructional practice
- Experience with the Canvas LMS or similar
- Experience with usability testing / other research techniques
- Experience with live-streaming
Other Requirements
- Expertise in content development for an educational (or similar) organization
- Ability to play an active role in multiple projects, communicate effectively with stakeholders on a cross-functional team, and deliver results under prescribed deadlines and changing demands
- Expertise video, audio, and photography production work -- candidates should be able to provide a link to an online portfolio
- Demonstrated expertise with Adobe Creative Suite Software or similar
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, project tracking, and customer service
- Aptitude for the adoption of new practices and technologies as SPS continues to evolve
