A good boss likes to have a lot to do with the personalities of people but there are many opportunity areas where they can change their leadership skills by allowing for some self-reflection and conviction, and thus be even more successful. We are convinced, anyone has the potential to be a good boss. And we also believe that no one should content with a simple “good” . Good bosses need regular check-ins and need to challenge themselves from time to time, whether they are still on the path towards greatness and where their future ambitions lie. 1. A good boss uses his/ her power wisely…

An excellent boss delegates more tasks and knows your power/strengths. There is no questioning Spiderman wisdom that with great power comes great responsibility. However, it makes a difference whether you are a boss trying to becoming powerful all by yourself or if you use this to promote your employees and support their strengths. A pleasant side effect of the delegation of power is to find a little less stress.

2. A good boss uses his/her position to take care of own needs as well as those of the employees…

An excellent boss encourages his/ her employees to do something themselves. This has everything to do with it to trust in employees. If you take care of your employees, no one will hold it against you. Great bosses give up the reins from time to time and prefer to provide support behind the scene. Your employees have a greater sense of self-efficacy and fulfillment.

3. A good boss motivates…

An excellent boss creates momentum. To be motivated as a leader is necessary. But what is even more important, is to get the whole team motivated.

4. A good boss feels responsible…

A great boss is fully involved and hands-on when needed. Because if something goes off, they should not merely judge the employees but set a good example. Never ask the employee to do something you would not do yourself.

5. A good boss gives feedback…

A great boss takes feedback. Good communication is critical in our current worlds especially in terms of ‘personal’ communication. This includes conversations with employees, assessment and evaluation of projects on a timely basis. There are a number of options available in this regard, including a 360 Degree feedback.

6. A good boss knows his limitations…

An excellent boss knows yours too. This means on the one hand, that a boss should never ask more of you than you can deliver on. On the other hand, he should be aware of how to deal with you and observe various aspects such as your background or your personality to perform most efficiently.

7. A good boss takes up responsibility…

A great boss always operates in a transparent and authentic manner. Of course, a boss should feel responsible for both successes and failures. However, it is also important that as a boss there is transparency and a good information flow in the team. Ask the employees and team members their opinions and do not rest on your power position and laurels. Always stay authentic because you build a relationship with you employees based on that.

8. A good boss praises you…

A great boss is always behind you. Praise and recognition, are often underestimated. However, it is an important motivator, not just in the workplace. Let but your words flow into action and strengthen the position of your key talent in the company.
