In this role you will lead Veritone’s global information security and compliance program as the Chief Information Security Officer. You’ll design and mature a security strategy aligned to growth and public sector expansion, safeguarding customer data, IP, and infrastructure across business units. You will counsel the Board and executives, build a high-caliber security organization, and foster a security-first culture. You will drive FedRAMP/DoD governance, regulatory compliance, and incident response at scale, shaping risk management for a publicly traded SaaS company.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute enterprise security and compliance strategy aligned with growth goals
  • Serve as security advisor to Board, executives, and organization
  • Build and lead a global security and compliance team across security ops, engineering, risk, and regulatory compliance
  • Foster security-first culture through training and cross-functional advocacy
  • Lead FedRAMP, DoD/CMMC, CJIS, StateRAMP authorizations and continuous monitoring
  • Oversee compliance for SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, GDPR/CCPA
  • Maintain IT general controls (ITGCs) for SOX and support SEC cybersecurity disclosures
  • Collaborate with EA, Infra, and Engineering to embed security in multi-tenant SaaS and CI/CD
  • Direct vulnerability management, incident response, and threat intelligence
  • Manage third-party risk, vendor risk programs, and supply chain security
  • Lead security due diligence for M&A and post-acquisition integration security
  • Develop BCP/DR, loss prevention, and fraud prevention policies

Key requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive information security, cloud architecture, and compliance leadership at a global, publicly traded SaaS tech company
  • Hands-on FedRAMP lifecycle experience (PMO/JAB or Agency route) with AWS/Azure
  • Fluency in both commercial SaaS security scaling and rigid public sector regulation (NIST 800-53/800-171, CMMC, CJIS, FISMA)
  • Excellent executive presence and ability to communicate security to engineers, buyers, auditors, and the Board
  • Experience negotiating security terms, DPAs, and risk terms with enterprises and vendors
  • Bachelor in relevant technical field
