In this role, you will lead and support Core Compliance initiatives in Germany, ensuring regulatory alignment and effective risk management. You will collaborate with the DPO and legal teams to implement compliance controls, policies, and training across the business. You drive assurance activities, monitor German regulatory changes, and support data protection tasks in the local context. Responsibilities
- Provide specialist compliance guidance to business areas and the MBE Compliance team
- Design, implement, and execute compliance assurance activities
- Promote staff awareness and training on compliance matters
- Draft and review policies/procedures from a national Germany perspective
- Perform operational activities such as PAD and OBI review/approval
- Manage national training reviews and training administration
- Support audit activities (SOX, WpHG) and MI reporting
- Handle annual certification administration and SMEs collaboration for Core Compliance
- Monitor and assess national impacts of laws/regulations and maintain related administration
- Act as local data protection and data security contact in collaboration with the DPO
- Prepare legally required documents for information requests and DPIAs/ROPAs
Key requirements
- Academic background, preferably in law, business law or business administration
- 8–10 years of banking experience with knowledge of MiFID II, MAR, GDPR, competition law, and investment banking products
- Experience in compliance with a focus on Capital Markets (WpHG)
- Knowledge of GDPR and data protection frameworks; experience with DPIAs and ROPAs is a plus
- Strong problem solving and analytical abilities
- Clear and confident communication; ability to influence stakeholders
- Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
- Integrity, responsibility, and stakeholder collaboration mindset
- Strategic thinking and willingness to lead change
