Experteer Overview

In this role you will provide expert guidance on executive compensation and benefits for C-suite clients, partnering with Private Advisory teams to support both private and public companies. You will design and benchmark compensation programs, ensure regulatory alignment, and scale advisory capabilities for Private Bank advisors. You will contribute to strategy, thought leadership, and education initiatives to advance the practice across the organization. This is a chance to shape compensation solutions that align with client objectives and evolving regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Advise C-suite executives and their advisors on complex compensation matters, including equity, deferred and incentive plans
  • Design, implement, and optimize executive compensation programs with benchmarking and regulatory alignment
  • Scale advisory delivery by developing tools and frameworks for advisors
  • Contribute to strategy and growth of the compensation practice through process improvements and broader impact
  • Present insights at internal and external forums to share best practices
  • Collaborate with Private Bank training to educate advisors on compensation concepts and compliance
  • Develop thought leadership, white papers, and client communications on compensation topics and trends
  • Research emerging trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in executive compensation across private and public companies
  • Work with legal, tax, HR, and investment teams to deliver compliant, strategic solutions
  • Provide technical guidance on Section 409A, Section 280G, SEC disclosures, and related regulations

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in executive compensation and benefits, advising C-suite executives at large private/public companies
  • Deep knowledge of compensation structures, equity and incentive plans, and regulatory frameworks
  • Strong research skills with ability to publish findings and insights
  • Ability to work independently and in a team; resilient and able to multitask
  • Strong written and verbal communication with high attention to detail
  • Excellent listening and questioning skills to provide strategic advice
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Willingness to travel 20–30%
  • Experience with national law, accounting, or financial services firms preferred
  • Experience with private company compensation structures preferred
