In this role, you will provide expert guidance on executive compensation and benefits for C-suite clients within the Private Advisory team. You’ll shape compensation strategies, benchmarks, and regulatory alignment, collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions. You’ll share insights through forums, training, and thought leadership, helping advisors navigate complex compensation design. This position offers the chance to influence a growing advisory practice and work with senior clients on strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
- Advise C-suite executives and their advisors on complex compensation and benefits matters (equity-based, deferred, incentive plan design)
- Guide design, implementation, and optimization of compensation programs with benchmarking and regulatory alignment
- Scale advisory capabilities by developing tools and frameworks for advisors to conduct compensation discussions
- Participate in forums to share best practices and navigate complex compensation arrangements
- Collaborate with Private Bank training to educate advisors on foundational and advanced compensation concepts
- Lead thought leadership pieces, white papers, and client communications on compensation topics and market trends
- Research emerging trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in executive compensation and benefits
- Coordinate with legal, tax, HR, and investment partners to deliver comprehensive solutions address regulatory and strategic objectives
- Serve as a technical resource on 409A, 280G, SEC disclosures, and related regulations
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years of experience in executive compensation and benefits
- Deep knowledge of compensation structures, equity and incentive plans, and regulatory frameworks
- Strong research skills and ability to publish findings
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- High work ethic, ability to multitask and perform under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent listening and questioning skills for strategic advice
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness to travel 20–30%
- Experience with private company compensation structures preferred
- Experience with national law, accounting, or financial services firms preferred
