You will work within Global Process Technology to shape new protein products and improve production methods, balancing speed with rigor. You’ll drive technical risk assessments, coordinate pilot trials, and nurture collaboration across internal and external partners, contributing to healthier nutrition at scale.

Responsibilities

Act as technology lead for strategic protein innovation projects, translating ideas into feasible, scalable processes from concept to documented process design
Identify, analyze and communicate technical complexity and risks within projects; balance speed and rigor in decision-making
Prepare process designs and mass balances; contribute to business cases
Coordinate pilot plant trials and ensure smooth execution
Develop strategies for protein processing; introduce new methods, tools, and equipment to improve workflows
Identify intellectual property opportunities in early stages and manage risk assessments
Provide mentorship and guidance to team members
Collaborate internally and maintain external partnerships; travel ~15% to national production locations

Key requirements

Master in Food Process Technology or background in (Bio-)Chemical Engineering or Process Technology with at least 10 years of protein processing process development experience
Experience moving projects from proof-of-concept to scalable, techno-economically viable solutions
Experience in conducting trials at pilot plant or plant scale
Solid foundation in unit operations used in protein processing
Excellent communication skills in English; reporting and stakeholder engagement
Strong conceptual and analytical thinking; ability to prioritize and decide between speed and rigor
