In this role you deliver diagnostic radiography by producing quality images under radiologist supervision, while explaining procedures and positioning patients. You apply ALARA-based technique selection and ensure image quality meets diagnostic standards. You uphold radiation safety for patients and staff and assist with patient transport and positioning throughout the imaging workflow. This per diem position supports the Radiology department’s operational needs and patient care objectives.
Responsibilities
- Produce diagnostic-quality images under staff radiologist supervision
- Explain procedures and position patients on exam table
- Select technique parameters following ALARA principles
- Review digital images for diagnostic quality and suitability
- Enforce radiation safety measures and protective equipment per regulations
- Transport and maneuver patients to/from imaging department
- Support overall imaging workflow and patient care during shifts
Key requirements
- CA certification from CDPH as Diagnostic Radiology and Fluoroscopy Technologist
- Completion of an AMA-accredited program
- New graduates must obtain Fluoroscopy Certification within 90 days of hire
- Current BLS issued by AHA
