As a Systems Engineering Project Manager at Bruker, you will architect and deliver advanced thin-film optical metrology instrumentation. You will blend systems engineering with full lifecycle project leadership to drive cross-functional programs from concept to commercialization. Responsibilities

Develop system-level architecture, specifications, and models for precision optical metrology platforms
Lead design and evaluation of subsystems: nano-positioning, high-precision sensors, and electro-mechanical/opto-mechanical assemblies
Perform advanced modeling, simulation, and system optimization using ZEMAX, MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, ANSYS
Build, test, and characterize prototype systems with interferometers and vibrometers
Drive system-level performance analyses, control-system tuning, and stability evaluations
Lead cross-functional engineering programs with accountability for project success
Define requirements aligned with customer, manufacturing, and business needs
Manage schedules, deliverables, dashboards, and documentation; ensure compliance with NPD process
Communicate status to management, customers, and partners; capture lessons learned for continuous improvement

Key requirements

Strong background in optical, electro-mechanical, precision motion, or instrumentation systems
Deep understanding of precision positioning and sensor technologies
Experience with system modeling and control theories (Bode plots, state-space, digital control)
Proficiency with modeling tools: ZEMAX, MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, Mathcad; ANSYS preferred
Successful track record managing complex, interdisciplinary engineering programs
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; data-driven decision making; DOE
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and project management platforms (Jira, MS Project)
BS or MS degree and 8–15 years of relevant experience; travel up to 5%; PMP preferred
