As a Systems Application Engineer II, you will design and deliver building automation solutions that improve energy efficiency, comfort, and reliability. You will own projects from pre-sales through design and commissioning, acting as a technical expert for teams and customers. The role centers on creating optimized BAS systems for critical facilities and guiding implementation. You’ll work closely with cross-functional partners to turn customer needs into robust design packages and configurations, contributing to Schneider Electric’s mission of sustainability and reliability.

Responsibilities

Review bid specs and craft strategic exceptions
Select cost-effective product and installation methods
Prepare installation submittals and support handoff to operations
Serve as a technical resource for internal teams and customers
Attend turnover meetings and on-site walk-throughs
Independently design BAS systems for standard and mission-critical facilities
Create custom design solutions to meet unique requirements
Produce complete BAS design packages (mechanical/electrical drawings, BOM, sequences of operation)
Analyze plans, codes, and specifications to define scope and risk
Provide startup/commissioning documentation to installation teams
Prepare engineering re-estimates and collaborate with sales/management
Create specs/drawings for external supplier components
Select control products (valves, sensors, controllers)
Prepare RFIs and manage pre-installation change orders
Maintain and update hardware and engineering standards

Key requirements

3–5 years of BAS, HVAC controls, or MEP experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and technical training
Ability to read/interpret architectural, electrical, mechanical, and control drawings
Working knowledge of MS Office, Visio, file structures
Familiarity with BACnet, LON, Modbus
Highly organized, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
