In this role you provide surveying and technical support to both underground and surface mining operations, supervising a team of four surveyors and establishing line sites for continuous mining. You will locate mine utilities and contribute to mine maps, volumetric reporting, and surface surveys to support exploration and aerial targeting. You will work closely with engineering and operations to enable safe, efficient mining and installation of critical infrastructure. This role offers meaningful impact through precision surveying and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Routine placement and verification of surveying sights for underground mining operations
Supervise a team of four surveyors
Install and advance line sites for continuous mining sections
Locate mine utilities (belts, monorail spots, centerlines for belts)
Prepare and maintain mine maps and drawings using AutoCAD
Prepare monthly volumetric calculations and mined area stockpile reports
Conduct surface surveying, including subsidence surveys, boundary descriptions, exploration support, and aerial survey targeting

Key requirements

2-year Technical degree or equivalent work experience
Experience in standard surveying principles, calculations, and note reduction
Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil3D, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to travel on uneven surfaces, climb/descend ladders, and lift up to 50 lb
