In this onsite role you will plan, manage and supervise the laboratory's activities to ensure accurate, timely analytical testing under cGMP and safety standards. You will support the Laboratory Manager with qualification protocols, method transfers and SOP implementation, while guiding a team of Analysts. You will drive on‑time testing delivery, support audits, investigate OOS/OOT, and lead qualification/validation activities. You will mentor staff, manage performance, and foster continuous improvement and harmonization across the global West lab network.

Responsibilities

Plan, manage and supervise laboratory activities and analysts
Execute analytical testing including wet chemistry, spectroscopy, chromatography, and functional testing
Ensure on-time delivery of testing in compliance with cGMP and safety guidelines
Develop/approve documents (SOIs, ESOPs, EWIs, protocols, reports) in absence of supervisor
Support qualification/validation activities in lab, production clean rooms or water systems
Lead continuous improvement initiatives and process harmonization
Provide training and development for team; conduct performance reviews and appraisals
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external auditors during audits
Support other functions as SME (R&D, process engineering) as needed
Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety and company policies
Foster knowledge sharing and positive employee relations

Key requirements

5+ years in analytical testing within pharma/medical devices/manufacturing
Experience in a cGMP environment
Bachelor in Science/Chemistry
Strong IT competence
Good verbal and written communication skills
Interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels in the organization
Team player with structured, organized work style
Ability to interact with suppliers, customers and external contractors
Familiarity with SOPs and quality systems
Experience with LEAN Sigma programs (preferred)
