In this role you drive Lean implementations within the NABU MP&L organization, lead safety and material flow initiatives, and support cross-location operations. You will collaborate with production planning, inventory control, and design teams to improve value streams and on-time delivery. You’ll mentor associates, manage daily activities, and participate in prototype/new model startups to ensure smooth transitions and continuous improvements. The position blends planning, safety, and logistics to strengthen inventory integrity and execution.

Responsibilities

Introduce Lean tools across the MP&L organization
Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and work instructions
Assist with documentation and work instruction creation
Oversee daily building safety activities and waste reduction
Learn and manage finished goods, locations, processes, lead-times, and handling procedures
Manage non-value-added vs value-added activities
Support monthly business unit reporting (e.g., meeting minutes, P.O. comparisons)
Monitor on-hand and in-transit inventory and plan
Provide guidance on part flow and material movement
Create Value Stream Maps and understand MP&L structure
Coordinate with plants to follow production plans and ship schedules
Formulate contingency plans to protect inventory and customers
Participate in prototype/new model start-ups and department meetings
Update and disseminate design change information; participate in Design Engineer meetings for planning

Key requirements

Associate degree or Technical Certificate required; bachelor’s degree preferred
8-10 years’ experience in Lean manufacturing or warehousing scheduling; international business and import experience required
2-4 years in a supervisory capacity
Strong mathematical skills
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
Excellent verbal and written communication; bilingual English/Spanish required
Knowledge of sequential manufacturing, scheduling, international business, and import processes
Experience with finished goods distribution in the automotive sector
