Senior Specialist / Project Manager

In this role you will lead high-impact structural design for large, complex projects in a multidisciplinary setting. You’ll guide delivery from concept through construction and mentor teams to elevate engineering excellence. You’ll apply advanced analysis tools to create resilient, integrated solutions while ensuring quality and code compliance. You will collaborate with architects, MEP and other specialists to push sustainable, performance-driven designs. Responsibilities
- Lead structural design for large, complex projects from concept to construction
- Apply RAM, RISA, ETABS, Enercalc for efficient, integrated design
- Direct preparation and QA of calculations, specs, documents
- Coordinate with architects, MEP, and consultants for high-performance solutions
- Lead or co-lead project meetings, client presentations, and stakeholder engagements
- Provide expert construction administration support (site visits, RFIs, submittals, field conditions)
- Interpret codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, NDS/SDPWS, TMS 402) for safety and design integrity
- Mentor junior and mid-level team members; contribute to training and performance feedback
- Champion innovation, sustainability, and resilience in material selection and design
- Maintain industry presence through knowledge sharing and professional engagement
- Oversee QA/QC and contribute to firm-wide quality initiatives
- Serve as a sector resource, applying specialized knowledge across markets
- Engage in Discipline Work Plan planning and workload oversight
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Key requirements
- 8+ years of structural engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) required; SE license preferred
- Mastery of RAM, RISA, ETABS, Enercalc
- Proficiency in Revit (core) preferred; Bluebeam and MS Office required
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards
- Proven experience leading complex, interdisciplinary projects
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing abilities
- Mentoring and talent development experience
- Passion for integrated design, quality, innovation, and sustainability
