In this role you will define and implement the Platform's infrastructure vision to support Factorial's growth. You will work within the Platform Domain's Infrastructure Team to ensure reliability, performance and security across the SaaS application. You will lead technical decisions, mentor engineers, and drive cross-functional delivery of scalable infrastructure initiatives. This opportunity blends hands-on engineering with strategic impact, shaping how we enable product engineers to deliver value at scale.

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable infrastructure solutions meeting business needs and enhancing system performance
Lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineers on practices and standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful feature delivery
Perform code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and performance
Identify and resolve software defects with effective solutions
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to improve skills
Define and promote professional standards and create reusable concepts across the company
Drive adoption of new abstractions and build supporting ecosystems like documentation and metrics
Make key technical decisions and create company-wide abstractions when needed

Key requirements

Proven software engineer with strong experience in SaaS or startup environments is a plus
Expertise in Java, Python, Ruby, or JavaScript
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
On-call rotation at Tier 2 handling production incidents
Deep MySQL administration experience in production (deploying, upgrading, tuning for performance and stability)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team
Excellent English communication skills
At least 10 years as a Systems/Infra Engineer with background as an application developer
