You’ll work within a cross-functional team to manage cases from inception through trial, delivering favorable outcomes for insureds and Claims partners in a technology-driven setting. You will independently craft defense strategies, motions, and trials, while maintaining strong client communication. This remote position travels periodically within Northern California and offers opportunities for growth within a collaborative, customer-focused culture.

Responsibilities

Handle complex, high-exposure litigation
Conduct extensive legal research and independently develop defense strategies
Prepare pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, and briefs with minimal supervision
Provide timely legal advice to clients and Claims customers
Communicate with courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel per office procedures
Ensure prompt, efficient disposition of assigned cases
Prepare and present witnesses at trials and hearings; support ADRs
Draft, file, and argue motions on behalf of clients
Provide damage and liability opinions to clients and Claims customers

Key requirements

Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice in California and local federal courts
Knowledge of California courts, especially Northern California
Active Bar Association membership in good standing
7+ years of legal experience
Documented first chair jury trial/appellate expertise
Strong legal research and writing skills
Excellent organizational skills and time management
Strong communication and technical skills with ability to learn new software
