In this role you will design and optimize engineering solutions for complex material handling challenges across Amazon's European fulfilment network. You will lead design development efforts, collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams, and document layouts, standards, and procedures. The position emphasizes ownership, problem-solving, and delivering implementable improvements in fast-paced, ambiguous environments. You will travel up to 50% and contribute to shaping efficient, scalable fulfilment operations.

Responsibilities

Own the design and development of engineering solutions for complex material handling challenges considering human/equipment interactions for the European fulfilment network
Lead and coordinate concept and design development for optimal solutions across the European fulfilment network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, ergonomics, associate experience, operational considerations and site layout
Work with vendors, suppliers and internal teams to create innovative solutions
Manage multiple high-visibility projects and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external partners
Conduct postmortems on designs after implementation with Safety and Operations
Collaborate with Fulfilment Center start-up and launch teams to ensure details are captured in layouts, modules, SOPs and change control
Develop, document and update design standards with worldwide design teams
Build strong relationships with Start-up, Launch, Worldwide Design, Procurement, IT, Loss Prevention, Facilities, Safety, Change Management, and EU Operations

Key requirements

Industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer with manufacturing experience
Bachelor's degree
Experience working with Material handling equipment (MHE)
Fluent English
