Experteer Overview
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at CIRCOR, you will define methods and sequences for complex machining operations to meet design and quality standards. You’ll collaborate across manufacturing, design engineering, quality, and customer service to provide manufacturability input and robust manufacturing plans. You will lead continuous improvement efforts under Lean methodologies, influence tooling and fixture design, and guide cross-functional teams on high-impact projects. This role offers opportunities to shape processes, reduce scrap and lead times, and drive operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop complete processes and routes for manufactured parts to meet scrap and lead-time goals
- Evaluate processes via analysis, collaborating with design, machining, materials, suppliers, and operators
- Design and implement fixtures and gages for parts
- Identify root causes using statistical methods and adjust designs or processes
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives (set-up reduction, TPM, 5S) within Lean Manufacturing
- Assess product designs for manufacturability and support capital equipment start-up
- Manage multiple project plans within timing and cost constraints
- Understand drafting standards and GD&T and interpret part drawings
- Maintain and expand professional knowledge through training and benchmarking
- Provide leadership, mentor junior staff, and act as project lead on high-level programs
Key requirements
- Experience with ERP systems
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
- AutoCAD or Solid Edge (3D modeling a plus)
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
- Strong mathematical and geometric reasoning skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and manuals
- Strong verbal and written communication; ability to present to groups
- Team-oriented with cross-department collaboration
- Minimum 3 years in manufacturing and 3–5 years engineering experience
- Experience in machining and high mix–low volume environments a plus
