Experteer Overview
In this role you will develop and deploy state-of-the-art ML models for recommender systems at eBay scale. You will build data pipelines for input, recall, training and inference, working with peers across engineering and architecture teams. You will explore multimodal and unstructured data, including GenAI approaches, to enhance live video auctions and personalized experiences. You will contribute to growing marketplace and advertising revenue through effective recommendations, shaping the next generation of eBay's AI-powered experiences.

Responsibilities
- Build data pipelines to support user input, recall and ranking, model training and inference with cross-functional collaboration
- Experiment with AI techniques on large multimodal datasets to drive personalization at scale
- Develop and deploy models in the context of recommender systems
- Deploy big data technology and large-scale data pipelines to power AI applications and user experiences
- Impact shopper behavior and monetization through both organic and sponsored recommendations
Key requirements
- MS in Computer Science or related area with 3 years of relevant work experience (or BS/BA with 5 years) in ML / AI / Data Engineering
- Experience in production engineering practices and software development in an OO language (Scala, Java, etc.)
- Experience in AI applied research, preferably in NLP, deep learning, and industrial recommender systems
- Experience in big data processing and analysis, e.g. Hadoop, SQL, Spark, Pyspark
- Experience with cloud services, big data pipelines and databases
