Experteer Overview
As a Production Engineer, you will support the assembly, test, certification, and shipment of optical, resistivity, and thin‑film thickness measurement systems. You’ll work with Manufacturing Engineers to improve processes, reduce cycle times, and boost yield while cutting waste. You’ll bridge operations and engineering to resolve issues, implement tooling and processes, and drive data‑driven improvements. This role offers hands‑on impact in a fast‑paced production environment within a global services firm.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot in‑process optical, mechanical, and electrical assemblies to address issues
- Monitor first‑pass yield and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to optimize processes and reduce cycle times
- Track rework and scrap, propose actions to improve yield and reduce waste
- Validate root cause analyses from failure reports and implement design/procedure/process fixes
- Serve as the 2nd line of support between Technicians and Engineering; escalate according to priorities
- Support the Manufacturing Tool Team in tool maintenance and evaluate new tools to boost productivity
- Identify production bottlenecks and define corrective action plans
- Develop and maintain methods, sequences, and processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Monitor yield, cycle times, and deviations; analyze data to drive improvements
- Collaborate with Quality to manage material quality impacting cycle time and productivity
- Create and refine build sequences for assembly, integration, calibration, and certification; assess manufacturing effectiveness
- Lead product‑level improvements addressing supplier quality, escalations, and improvement projects
- Analyze manufacturing data using SPC to drive process, specification, and design improvements
Key requirements
- Demonstrated experience in developing production documentation
- Demonstrated experience developing manufacturing processes and process improvements
- Experience implementing Quality, SPC, and Safety systems
- Proven ability to maintain accurate BOM and cost information
- Experience in tooling and fixturing development
- Experience tracking production rework and scrap
