In this role you will design and integrate spacecraft electronics for a next-generation satellite platform, including PCBAs, fault-tolerant power systems, and sensor/radio subsystems. You will collaborate with software and mechanical teams to guide development from concept to product introduction, solving complex electronics challenges in a space environment. The position emphasizes hands-on board design, verification, and hardware-software interfacing at system level. This is a Munich-based, on-site role with potential access to export-controlled technology. You will shape reliable, high-performance electronics for space applications.

Responsibilities

Electrical design of spacecraft electronics from requirements to architecture and detailed design
Component selection, circuit design and simulation where needed
Schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer
Power supply and power monitoring circuit design
Design verification including worst-case analysis and signal/power integrity
Peer reviews of schematics and layouts
Board bring-up, validation and debugging
Support validation and qualification testing of systems

Key requirements

Electronics theory with analogue and digital circuitry expertise
Board design and PCB layout with focus on DFM, preferably using Altium
Experience with FPGA-based designs for high-speed DSP applications
Strong knowledge of high-speed digital layout practices and SI tools
Experience with digital interfaces (I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, USB, RS485, RS422, SpaceWire, PCIe, Gbit Ethernet)
Rigid, Flex and Rigid-Flex PCB design experience
Strong debugging and fault identification skills
Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, VNAs)
Exposure to space environmental and component reliability requirements
Design for FPGA programming (Verilog, VHDL) and embedded/DSP programming (C/C++, microcontrollers)
