As Software Equipment Engineer at Prysmian, you translate maintenance and process needs into practical software solutions for in-house machinery and R&D equipment. You will work with cross-functional teams and suppliers to design impactful software that keeps production running 24/7. You’ll manage software configuration, MES systems, and documentation, supporting technicians and engineers across factories. Responsibilities
- Translate requirements from expert teams into concrete software designs and know-how for knowledge transfer
- Manage software configuration control and MES systems, including version management and CE documentation, plus training of engineers and technicians
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve technical issues or equipment failures for Process Control and Maintenance
- Conduct technology watch to identify obsolete equipment and propose replacements or alternatives
- Support factories of the Optical Fiber BU with potential international travel
Key requirements
- Bachelor in Software Engineering or related field
- 3–5 years of relevant experience
- Basic VCA certificate or willingness to obtain one
- Experience in software development within machine building or industrial automation
- Team player with ability to work independently and focus on quality
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset and initiative
- Project leadership skills with planning and organizing ability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Some experience with Siemens and Rockwell systems is a plus
- Good English level (mandatory)
