In this role you lead and deliver transmission line projects from concept to construction, focusing on 69 kV–500 kV systems. You will guide design teams, coordinate with clients and permitting agencies, and produce high-quality deliverables that meet schedule and budget targets. The position offers diverse, multi-disciplinary project work within Stantec’s Power Delivery sector and opportunities to shape a broad range of infrastructure initiatives. You will play a key role in advancing the firm’s clean energy and transmission goals at scale.

Responsibilities

Lead preparation of specifications, calculations, drawings, and scope documents for tenders and contracts
Coordinate and direct design engineers and staff to ensure on-time, on-budget, high-quality deliverables
Write and edit technical reports and engineering studies
Liaise with clients, contractors, disciplines, and permitting agencies; apply project management skills
Contribute to a variety of unique projects with pathways for career growth within Power Delivery
Bridge gaps between different infrastructure engineering sectors within Stantec

Key requirements

PE required or ability to attain within one year
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited)
8+ years of transmission line design experience (overhead and underground HV/EHV)
Experience with route selection, structure design and analysis, and bid package development
Proficiency in PLS-CADD and related tools; familiarity with design drawings and BOMs
Experience with lattice towers; knowledge of geotechnical foundation design and embedment calculations
Ability to communicate with survey/GIS personnel and integrate data into models
Familiarity with industry standards (ASCE, ACI, IEEE, NESC, RUS Bulletins, GO-95)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to manage teams and client expectations
