In this role you will contribute to transportation bridge design and rehabilitation within Stantec’s Bridges and Structures Team. You’ll work on challenging projects that move people and goods, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver design calculations, drawings, and specifications. You’ll apply your expertise to new structures and assess existing ones, helping to shape resilient transportation infrastructure. Responsibilities

Apply structural engineering knowledge to transportation projects
Prepare design calculations, drawings, and details for bridges and related structures
Design new structures and rehab existing ones
Review shop drawings and calculations; coordinate with design team; conduct site visits and monitor conditions
Assist with client coordination, submittals, meetings, and response to RFIs
Collaborate with other structural staff and departments to deliver projects

Key requirements

Professional Engineer license in California
Proficiency in steel, masonry, timber and concrete design (incl. precast and prestressed)
Experience with structural analysis software (SAP 2000, CsiBridge, Midas or similar)
Strong experience in bridge design calculations and plans per Caltrans standards
Knowledge of AASHTO, Caltrans, AREMA, and CBC codes
10+ years in structural design for bridges/infrastructure, Caltrans experience preferred
High attention to detail and proven leadership/team-building abilities
