In this role you will lead direct-material procurement and partnerships for Zoox’s vehicle program, shaping the long-term supply ecosystem. You’ll collaborate with engineering, operations, and strategy to craft a 3–5 year roadmap for sourcing and partnerships that enable vehicle development and autonomous ride-hailing services. You will manage supplier relationships, cost transparency, and contract coverage to ensure reliable, cost-effective supply. This is a high-impact role that blends strategic thinking with hands-on negotiation and cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities
- Lead procurement and partnership initiatives for vehicle direct materials and operations infrastructure
- Engage stakeholders across engineering, operations, manufacturing, strategy, finance, and design to derive and execute multi-year roadmaps
- Develop the supply chain footprint with a long-term strategic view
- Oversee day-to-day partnership management including milestones, change orders, QA, and cost control; build supplier performance assessments
- Design, conduct, and synthesize supplier and market research
- Drive cost transparency and total cost of ownership models for sourcing decisions
- Ensure optimal contract coverage for the commodity/service with engineering and legal support
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships as the primary commercial point of contact
- Review, analyze, and finalize supplier quote packages
- Support internal stakeholders with respect to supplier selection and management
- Identify sourcing alternatives to improve efficiency through benchmarking and competitive quotes
Key requirements
- 6+ years of experience in partnership development and/or purchasing in a hardware product environment
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strategic sourcing, financial and business opportunity analysis, familiarity with legal frameworks, and contract negotiation skills (development, supply, licensing, and service agreements)
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders including C-level, engineering, legal, finance, manufacturing, and logistics
- Excellent analytical skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
