As Senior Manufacturing Solution Architect you will define the technical vision for digital manufacturing across LYB’s global operations. You will bridge manufacturing, OT, and IT platforms to deliver measurable business value through scalable, secure solutions. You’ll lead innovation, governance, and architecture across cloud, data, and integration domains while collaborating with cross‑functional partners and vendors. This role offers the chance to shape the next generation of industrial IT and sustainability initiatives at LYB.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture and design of digital manufacturing solutions across production, reliability, quality, energy, and sustainability use cases
Define end-to-end architectures spanning OT systems, plant data historians, manufacturing applications and cloud platforms
Act as a technical authority for OT/IT integration patterns, including real-time data ingestion, edge architectures, and secure connectivity
Provide innovation leadership, governance, and oversight for ITS initiatives
Evaluate RFPs and translate business needs and trends into actionable architecture and roadmaps
Champion high-value innovation projects with organizational leaders
Ensure ITS solutions are agile, stable, and scalable
Develop and maintain technical innovation roadmaps with Service Excellence
Engage with vendors to identify strategic partnerships and ensure alignment across ITS groups
Enforce architectural principles and industry best practices across technologies
Assess risks and opportunities, and create transformation analyses
Produce architectural views and future-state models and roadmaps
Communicate technology trends and their business impact, and contribute to related articles

Key requirements

10+ years in manufacturing, industrial IT, or digital transformation
5+ years in solution or enterprise architecture in manufacturing environments
Strong knowledge of ISA-95 and Purdue Model, OT networking and cybersecurity, time-series data, streaming, and event-driven architectures
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
10–12 years in a technical design/architect role
Experience with Azure infrastructure, directory services, collaboration, and virtualization
General knowledge of SAP and other key enterprise applications
Extensive experience with data & integration platforms, SaaS, and IaaS
Experience leading technical discussions with stakeholders across levels, including C-suite
Ability to design for high availability and disaster recovery in data center environments
Broad understanding of IT standards, practices, and disciplines
Strong relationship-building and communication skills
Analytical skills with ability to translate trends into business impact
TOGAF certification (mentioned)
