Senior Manager, Software Development leads global, multi-disciplinary teams to plan, develop, and deliver Network Control software on schedule and within budget. You will oversee the full software lifecycle, ensure adherence to processes, and collaborate with PMO, Product Management, Quality, and Security to drive high-quality releases. This role combines technical oversight with strategic leadership to advance Hitachi Energy’s Network Control offerings. A strong emphasis on cross-functional coordination and rigorous delivery governance defines the impact of this position.

Responsibilities

Lead global, multi-disciplinary scrum teams across planning, development, and delivery releases
Oversee full software development lifecycle for Network Control products
Ensure adherence to defined SDLC processes and governance across practice areas
Collaborate with PMO, Product Management, Quality, Security, and stakeholders to deliver on scope, time, and budget
Provide technical design input with senior engineers; contribute to product design, bug verification, and beta support as needed
Support scrum ceremonies and impediment resolution; act as liaison to other teams and business lines
Track metrics (burndown, burn-up, cumulative flow) and report on delivery performance

Key requirements

Bachelor in Power System Engineering or Computer Science with power system background
10+ years of related experience or equivalent
Experience with network control and software technologies (SCADA, EMS, GMS, Power System Applications)
Ability to lead global, multicultural software teams across time zones
Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and self-starter attitude
Excellent communication across all levels and with external customers
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strategic focus
Proactive, collaborative, flexible mindset with global project experience
