In this role you will lead the procurement workstream for the Bachem Sisslerfeld site within a major CAPEX program. You will act as the single procurement point of contact, coordinating Category Managers, Engineering, PMO and project leadership to secure best commercial outcomes. You will shape the procurement, sourcing and contracting strategy and manage governance, risk, and change orders throughout the project lifecycle. The position offers the chance to influence a high-profile pharmaceutical investment and collaborate across cross-functional teams. You will engage with senior stakeholders to drive value and ensure alignment with Bachem standards.

Responsibilities

Lead the procurement workstream for the Sisslerfeld program and serve as the single point of contact
Coordinate procurement activities across Category Managers, Engineering, PMO and project leadership
Define and drive overall procurement, sourcing and commercial strategy in alignment with PM and Engineering
Support commercial negotiations and award recommendations for major contracts and strategic suppliers
Own procurement governance, risk management and reporting across the project portfolio
Partner with Legal for contract reviews of complex contracts and amendments
Drive claims and commercial disputes in cooperation with Category Manager, Legal and PMO
Lead contract and change order management, identifying risks and opportunities
Represent Procurement in project leadership meetings and executive reviews
Act as a trusted advisor to Project Leadership on procurement and commercial matters
Ensure alignment with Bachem procurement standards, policies and governance requirements

Key requirements

Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Law, Economics or related discipline
10-15+ years in Procurement, Commercial and Contract Management within large CAPEX projects
Proven track record in managing complex procurement packages and high-value negotiations
Strong expertise in contract lifecycle management, claims management, change orders and dispute resolution
Ability to lead cross-functional, matrix organizations and influence senior stakeholders
Strategic procurement mindset with strong commercial acumen and decision-making
