Senior Specialist / Project Manager

In this role you will lead financial processes for construction projects in Oakland, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards while supporting month-end Close and general ledger integrity. You will bridge finance with contract management, driving risk controls and compliant operations across contracts, bonds, and licenses. The position offers impact by enabling timely project milestones, budget tracking, and reliable reporting to stakeholders. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and leverage new technologies to strengthen contract and compliance management.

Responsibilities

Oversee key financial processes and month-end close activities; maintain GL integrity
Draft, review, and negotiate customer and subcontractor agreements; maintain standardized templates
Track contract milestones to ensure timely execution, amendments, and renewals
Procure and manage surety bonds; assess insurance coverage and cost-effective strategies
Serve as primary contact for risk management; monitor subcontractor compliance and critical documentation
Maintain organized, auditable contract records and provide leadership reports on risk and renewals
Prepare and submit client pre-qualification packages; track approvals and maintain company standing
Monitor and renew licenses, permits, and regulatory filings; escalate compliance issues
Identify and implement process improvements and new technologies to enhance contract and compliance management

Key requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Construction Management, or related discipline
Over 6 years of experience in contract administration, risk management, or a similar construction industry role
Knowledge of surety bonds, insurance requirements, and construction contract law
Skilled in task management tools such as Trello
Strong attention to detail, excellent negotiation abilities, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience with contract management software and the Microsoft Office suite
