In this role you will lead strategic sourcing initiatives for Vizient health systems to drive cost savings through best-in-class contracting. You will work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement negotiating strategies, translate client needs into supplier requirements, and guide bidding and contract optimization. You will monitor market trends and contract performance to identify renegotiation opportunities and ensure value delivery. This position offers visibility across client engagements, with a focus on impact, collaboration, and continuous improvement in healthcare purchasing.

Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of multi-disciplinary contracts with advanced negotiation to optimize terms and conditions
Lead category and portfolio strategy through input from client committees and task forces
Partner with engagement team to secure favorable Vizient price tiers and develop client-tailored agreements
Perform financial analysis and interpret market trends to inform strategy
Collaborate with SMEs to validate recommendations and monitor pricing/contract performance using Vizient tools
Lead the RFP process, translate client input into supplier requirements, and negotiate pricing reflecting market value
Present savings, performance updates, and contracting recommendations in engagement meetings
Mentor and develop relations with suppliers and stakeholders across categories
Facilitate meetings to articulate opportunities, next steps, and challenges to leadership and clients
Drive cross-functional collaboration to improve processes and deliverables

Key requirements

Five or more years of experience in contracting, contract management, or a supply-chain role
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong relationship-building and strategic partnering skills
Proven project management capability including timeline management and stakeholder communication
Strong healthcare contracting background with negotiations experience (preferred)
Experience leading Purchased Services or Physician Preference Item initiatives (preferred)
Detail-oriented with strong written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel
