As the Senior Payroll HRIS Analyst, you will own the design, configuration, and optimization of Workday Payroll for US and Canada. You’ll serve as the HRIS expert for Payroll, ensuring compliant, efficient payroll operations and scalable Workday solutions for diverse locations and populations. You’ll collaborate with Payroll, HRIS, Benefits, and IT to translate requirements into reliable configurations and lead continuous improvement. You’ll drive testing, releases, and cross-functional partnerships to maintain production-ready payroll capabilities. This role offers a chance to shape how payroll software supports complex operations and regulatory needs at Ryder.

Responsibilities
- Act as the primary Workday Payroll HRIS subject matter expert for design, configuration, maintenance, and optimization
- Support complex payroll configuration including pay components, calculated fields, conditional rules, eligibility, accumulations, and processing
- Partner with Payroll leadership and cross-functional teams to design scalable Workday solutions for varied operational needs
- Analyze and troubleshoot payroll system issues, assess impacts, and implement sustainable improvements
- Lead Workday testing for enhancements, releases, regulatory changes, integrations, and new functionality
- Support payroll-related configuration across Workday modules (Benefits, Compensation, Absence, reporting) and modify reports as needed
- Evaluate functionality and best practices to propose enhancements and automation opportunities
Key requirements
- Five or more years of HRIS experience with hands-on Workday Payroll configuration
- Experience supporting large, multi-state and/or multi-country payroll operations
- Advanced Workday Payroll configuration knowledge (pay components, calculated fields, rules, eligibility, processes)
- Strong understanding of payroll operations, taxation, and compliance
- Workday Payroll Certification preferred
