Senior or Staff Backend Engineer (Golang) at a cutting-edge AI startup focused on real-time workplace communication. Responsibilities

Develop and scale high-performance Go backend services and infrastructure
Design and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs; integrate AI/ML inference endpoints to meet SLAs
Architect and evolve distributed systems and microservices to support real-time, data-intensive workloads
Collaborate with ML, product, and infra teams to enable ML-powered features in production
Lead technical initiatives and contribute to system-level performance optimization and observability
Own critical architecture decisions and drive engineering leadership growth

Key requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years using Go in production
2+ years working with SQL (and NoSQL) databases including design and optimization
Experience designing RESTful and GraphQL APIs with AI/ML inference integration
Strong understanding of backend system design, distributed computing, and microservices
Experience building scalable APIs and backend infrastructure for real-time or data-intensive systems
Familiarity with collaborating with ML engineers to support ML-powered features in production
