Experteer Overview

Senior MSL in Obesity works as a primary scientific resource for OLs, PHDMs, and healthcare providers to advance Amgen’s obesity science and product strategy. You’ll collaborate with investigators and institutions, share data, and support sponsored and non-sponsored research. The role is field-based within the U.S. Medical team, reporting to the Obesity MSL Lead, with a focus on improving patient outcomes. You’ll lead scientific exchanges, assist congress activities, and train speakers to ensure up-to-date data delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with Opinion Leaders, PHDMs, and healthcare providers to discuss and advance scientific platform aligned with company goals
  • Engage with clinical investigators and sites to support the obesity pipeline
  • Communicate scientific and economic data to PHDMs within assigned IDNs and institutions
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to extend Amgen’s reach for patients
  • Provide in-depth scientific exchanges with balanced clinical information compliant with MSL standards
  • Support Amgen-sponsored research and potentially lead studies
  • Liaise with investigators in non-sponsored clinical research
  • Share field observations to inform Amgen strategies
  • Lead and participate in congress activities aligned with strategy
  • Support speaker training and ensure update of new data
  • Contribute to MSL strategy through project teams and cross-functional collaboration
  • Coordinate across Amgen field roles for a unified One Amgen experience
  • Mentor other MSLs as designated
  • Complete administrative tasks (CRM, expense reports, compliance modules) timely
  • Maintain and enhance clinical/scientific acumen with current data and trends
  • Build and maintain strong external relationships and communicate data effectively
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations

Key requirements

  • Doctorate degree with 2+ years of Medical Affairs experience OR
  • Master’s degree with 6+ years OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years in Medical Affairs
  • 2+ years in a medical science liaison role in biotech/pharma
  • Current experience in Scientific or Medical Affairs at a biotech/pharma company
  • Cardiometabolic and/or Obesity expertise
  • Experience with designated territory management
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
