As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Capgemini Engineering’s Hardware team, you own mechanical design across the product lifecycle for high-tech hardware in an embedded OEM environment. You balance functionality, manufacturability, safety, cost, and lead times while driving design reviews and technical decisions. This role centers on delivering robust concepts to detailed designs, supporting products through lifecycle, and progressing toward Lead Engineer. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to shape tomorrow’s products.

Responsibilities

Translate requirements into mechanical designs across concept to release
Create 3D models and drawings using CAD tools (Siemens NX) and define components and systems
Perform feasibility studies, trade-offs, and BOM/TPD creation for manufacturing and testing
Manage design changes in PLM/PDM (Teamcenter, SAP) with traceability
Conduct tolerance analyses (GD&T) and mechanical calculations
Lead design reviews and collaborate with Lead Engineers, PMs, suppliers, and cross-functional teams
Mentor less experienced engineers and foster knowledge sharing
Support products through full lifecycle and drive continuous improvement

Key requirements

5+ years of mechanical design experience in a high-tech environment
Hands-on CAD experience (preferably Siemens NX) and PLM/PDM (Teamcenter or SAP)
Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, GD&T, tolerance analysis, manufacturability, and engineering standards
Experience with design verification, testing, validation, risk assessments, and FMEA
Ability to translate requirements into practical concepts and resolve conflicting requirements
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and ability to work across disciplines
Fluent in English (C1) and eligible for NATO/EU nationality
