Experteer Overview
In this role you will steward external reporting integrity and steer complex technical accounting matters. You will shape global accounting policies, oversee equity-related accounting, and partner across Legal, Tax, FP&A, and Investor Relations to deliver audit-ready disclosures. You will tackle topics like business combinations, leases, impairments, derivatives, and stock-based compensation, translating guidance into scalable controls. You drive efficiency through policy design and process automation, while developing a high-caliber accounting team. This position offers a meaningful impact on the company’s financial integrity and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Technical accounting & policy leadership on topics including business combinations, leases, impairments, commissions, derivatives, and equity-based compensation
- Draft and maintain technical accounting memos meeting U.S. GAAP and audit standards
- Design, implement, and oversee global accounting policies across teams and jurisdictions
- Evaluate new accounting guidance, assess impact, and lead adoption
- Lead preparation and review of quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, Proxy) and related XBRL work
- Partner with Legal, Tax, FP&A, Investor Relations, and others to ensure complete and accurate disclosures
- Support external auditors with documentation, communication, and a robust internal control environment
- Maintain and strengthen SOX compliance for reporting processes and technical accounting areas
- Oversee all accounting and reporting for stock-based compensation programs and equity activity
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of valuations, calculations, and disclosures
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and technical accounting workflows using tools like Workiva and NetSuite
- Lead automation and optimization initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Mentor and develop team members to enhance technical capabilities and career growth
Key requirements
- SEC financial reporting and compliance experience including Form 10-K and Form 10-Q filings
- Proficiency with Workiva and NetSuite
- CPA qualification and prior Big 4 experience
- Expertise in stock-based compensation, derivatives, and business combinations
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ability to produce audit-ready documentation
- Experience managing global accounting policies and ensuring regulatory adherence
- Excellent collaboration with cross-functional teams (Tax, Legal, FP&A)
- Proven leadership with emphasis on mentoring and team development
