Experteer Overview

In this role you will lead Freshpet's internal communications to inform, engage, and inspire employees. You will partner with HR, Marketing, Legal, and Investor Relations to ensure consistent internal storytelling and bolster the employer brand. You will counsel leadership and manage key intranet platforms and company-wide events. This is a strategic, cross-functional role focused on clear messaging, employee experience, and reputational stewardship.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute internal communications strategy aligned with company priorities
Translate strategy, performance, and change into clear employee communications
Maintain an editorial calendar and publish engaging content across internal channels
Support employer brand strategy with HR and Marketing
Develop internal narrative to activate the EVP
Advise senior leaders on communication approaches and timing
Develop and maintain internal communication protocols
Manage intranet (Dog Park) governance and content
Lead planning and execution of town halls and leadership forums; shape agendas with CEO and ELT
Oversee company-wide events and cultural initiatives; manage vendors, timelines, and budgets
Monitor trends and measure communication effectiveness, recommending improvements

Key requirements

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
8-12+ years of experience in internal, executive, or corporate communications
Proven leadership of company-wide communications and engagement programs
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to simplify complex information and tell stories
Strong executive presence, judgment, and discretion
Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, collaboration tools, and intranet management
