In this role you will lead the development and operation of production-grade ML components that improve vehicle claims and ownership processes. You’ll set the ML roadmap, architect scalable data systems on GCP, and guide cross-functional teams to deliver impactful AI solutions. You will balance leadership with hands-on work, shaping CV and LLM-powered models and internal tools to accelerate adoption. This position offers ownership over technical direction, accountability for measurable outcomes, and a path to build a globally distributed ML team.

Responsibilities

Define and drive the ML roadmap aligning with business goals and KPIs
Lead computer vision models (classification, detection, segmentation) and LLM-driven components
Architect scalable data/ML infrastructure on GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, Vertex AI) for training/serving at scale
Oversee quality delivery in a monorepo with reviews, design docs, testing, reproducibility, and CI/CD
Lead production MLOps: containerization, Kubernetes (GKE), Cloud Run, observability and cost/performance tuning
Shape APIs and internal tools (FastAPI, Streamlit) to enable rapid experimentation and adoption
Collaborate cross-functionally with product and platform teams to prioritize impact and de-risk delivery
Balance people leadership with individual contribution; recruit, coach, and develop ML engineers
Foster a culture of clarity, ownership, and high standards; set technical bar through mentorship

Key requirements

Proven leadership of ML initiatives from problem framing to scalable production
Deep experience with computer vision models (classification, detection, segmentation) using TensorFlow/PyTorch
Strong software engineering and MLOps fundamentals (testing, CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, monitoring)
Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed processing on GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow) or equivalent
Experience with tree-based models and integrating LLM APIs into production workflows
Track record of setting technical direction, making pragmatic trade-offs, and delivering measurable outcomes
Structured problem solving, critical thinking, and ownership mindset
Effective communication across internationally distributed teams
