In this finance leadership role you drive core accounting operations and compliance for a high-growth biotech-adjacent organization. You will own the month-end close, oversee GL, payroll, and consolidations across multiple entities, and collaborate with senior leadership to strengthen controls. You’ll implement scalable policies and support audits and tax filings. A customer-service oriented team leader, you help scale finance processes in a cross-functional setting with impact on financial reporting and governance.

Responsibilities

Manage general ledger, accounts payable, and payroll for the company; lead a small accounting team
Oversee period-end close including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and P&L review
Coordinate bi-weekly payroll and related compliance matters
Maintain consolidation across entities and manage outsourcing for domestic and Swiss subsidiary
Partner with Controller to interpret GAAP and develop accounting policies
Develop and document policies and procedures to scale operations
Establish and enforce internal controls and processes
Support financial statement audits and tax compliance
Build and develop a customer-service oriented accounting team
Assist with annual 1099 preparation and FP&A framework

Key requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA preferred
5+ years in accounting with public accounting and/or biotech exposure in publicly traded companies
Experience with NetSuite, Prendio, and ADP preferred
SOX 404(b) compliant experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
Experience with financial statement preparation, payroll and sales tax filings
Experience with GL and month-end/year-end close including consolidations and multiple subsidiaries
Experience managing staff and conducting performance reviews
