As a Senior Machine Learning Scientist, you will build, train, and deploy cutting-edge Generative AI models for travel-focused tasks. You’ll work on foundation models and fine-tuned models using Booking.com’s rich data, advancing multimodal and NLP/CV capabilities. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into ML solutions and ensure production-ready deployment with scalable, low-latency inference. This role offers impact across content, moderation, translation, and GenAI applications in a data-driven, innovative environment.

Responsibilities
- Explore and apply state-of-the-art multimodal ML techniques
- Train and refine NLP, CV, and LLM-based models to drive business impact
- Develop reusable, scalable code and frameworks
- Perform rigorous data analysis and metric-driven evaluation of models
- Coordinate with ML engineers to meet latency/throughput targets and deploy models to production
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and analysts to translate requirements into ML solutions
Key requirements
- Advanced knowledge in Computer Vision and NLP
- Experience designing end-to-end R&D plans for large-scale ML models
- 2+ years of experience training LLMs and deploying them in production
- Experience with large datasets, statistics, experimentation, data visualization, optimization, and software development
- Strong programming skills in Python and Java; experience with Kafka, Hadoop, SQL, Spark or equivalent
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally in ML product development
- Excellent English communication skills
- Proven track record of leading or contributing to technically significant initiatives
