As a Backend Engineer at Dynatrace, you build a distributed debugger that runs in production across multi-cloud and on-prem environments. You join a mature team delivering core features for the Extensions Framework and ensuring scalable, low-overhead tooling. You collaborate with Product Managers and Architects through design, coding, and release, while mentoring peers and exploring ideas that could become patents. Responsibilities
- Develop core backend features for a distributed debugger in production environments
- Work across multi-cloud and on-prem deployments
- Participate in end-to-end development from design to release
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Architects
- Engage in pair programming, debugging, testing, and quality assurance
- Contribute to the Extensions Framework and monitoring capabilities
- Allocate one day per sprint for self-development and mentoring
- Candidates may pursue patentable ideas and ship them under their name
Key requirements
- 5+ years of experience with Java
- Strong foundation in object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience with test-driven development, clean code, and design patterns
- Agile mindset and proactive, team-oriented approach
- English communication skills
- Ideally hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Willingness to learn new technologies
