In this role you drive intellectual property strategy for designated product areas, partnering with management to safeguard innovations. You coordinate IP actions, deliver patent services, and mentor junior team members within a global practice. You manage national and international patent filings and ensure compliance with company style and standards. You engage stakeholders to align IP efforts with business goals and contribute to a best-in-class legal function that supports Richemont’s craftsmanship-driven portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Assess and coordinate IP actions, delivering strategic advice to management
- Provide IP services for designated product areas
- Advise on legal rights related to patents
- Identify patentable inventions and recommend patent applications
- Prepare and prosecute national and international patent applications
- Supervise and mentor junior patent staff
- Manage and file IP applications for patents
- Edit documents per organizational style for publication
- Design, develop, and deliver legal services with guidance from seniors
- Coordinate specific legal cases to optimize efficiency and cost
- Create and maintain a global document management system
- Engage with stakeholders to understand needs and promote understanding
- Provide supervision and coaching to practitioners
- Develop personal capabilities through training and coaching
- Maintain external professional accreditation where relevant
- Stay informed on technology, regulations and industry best practices
Key requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level
- Experience handling the majority of IP situations and advising others
- Experience supervising junior colleagues
