In this role you own the design and verification of rugged, high-reliability digital hardware for embedded systems across multiple domains. You will lead board-level development of complex digital circuits and modules, including compute and signal-processing hardware, secure processing, and advanced interfaces. You’ll mentor junior engineers, drive design reviews, and influence hardware architecture while collaborating across sites to deliver robust solutions for national security. Responsibilities

  • Lead board-level design, development, and verification of digital circuits from concept to production
  • Own embedded digital hardware including compute modules, signal processing systems, secure storage, and IO modules
  • Design with advanced tech (100G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen3/4, DDR4/5, fiber optics, HD-SDI, LVDS)
  • Drive design quality via analysis, peer reviews, and verification practices
  • Lead board bring-up, debug, test, and verification with CAD/SI teams
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to improve manufacturability and resolve build issues
  • Provide mentorship to junior hardware engineers and lead small projects

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years in electrical engineering product development for board-level hardware from concept to production
  • Experience architecting and designing complex embedded digital hardware
  • Proficiency with high-speed digital interfaces (FPGA, PCIe, SATA, I2C, ARINC-429, Ethernet, HD-SDI)
  • Strong understanding of high-speed digital signal integrity for board-level design
  • Experience developing design specs, test plans, verification strategies, and documentation
  • Experience leading tasks or small projects and mentoring juniors
