In this role you will drive flexible packaging development and technology maturation for SIG, collaborating across suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams. You will lead trials across extrusion, printing, lamination, and bag/pouch fabrication, while exploring advanced polymers and IP opportunities. You’ll balance hands-on engineering with project leadership to commercialize a compelling packaging vision. This position offers international exposure, travel, and a chance to shape next-gen packaging solutions.

Responsibilities

Manage flexible packaging development activities
Create and implement a vision for assigned segments
Establish technical SME status in food and non-food packaging via stakeholder interactions
Research advanced polymers and processing technologies to enable next-gen value propositions
Conduct literature and patent searches to identify IP and patentable inventions
Coordinate development and trials for blown film extrusion, printing, lamination, and bag/pouch fabrication; oversee lab testing
Lead cross-functional teams (commercial, operations, supply chain) to commercialize the vision
Travel up to 25% (international travel may be required)

Key requirements

Bachelor’s degree in the stated engineering or materials fields; graduate degree preferred
Minimum of three years of experience in blown film extrusion, printing (flexo, rotogravure, digital), and lamination (solvent-less and solvent)
Experience in flexible packaging development and trials
Knowledge of food science and filling equipment preferred
Experience operating blown film equipment
