In this role you will advance Linux-based embedded software powering Lely’s robotic platforms used in dairy farming. You will join a multidisciplinary team to improve reliability, performance, and scalability of the robotics stack. Your work supports hardware integration and software quality, shaping future-proof, farm-ready solutions. You’ll collaborate across disciplines and contribute to continuous improvement within an Agile environment. Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and improve the Linux-based embedded robotics platform (kernel and user-space)
Configure, integrate, and debug Linux systems for reliability, performance, and security
Support integration of new hardware platforms (ARM and x86)
Collaborate with embedded software, electronics, robotics engineers and external partners to deliver solutions
Contribute to software quality and development practices through knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within Agile
Promote development practices and improve software quality within the team

Key requirements

Bachelor in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Software Engineering, or related field
At least 5 years of experience with Linux-based embedded systems and software development
Experience with Linux kernel development (configuring, building, debugging)
Knowledge of ARM and x86 architectures
Proficiency in C, C++, Python, Bash, or Makefiles; interest in software quality and test-driven development
Experience in multidisciplinary Agile teams with collaborative approach
