In this role you will lead reliability initiatives for grid automation products, supporting protection, control devices, and digital substations. You’ll drive resilience, regulatory compliance, and long-term field performance across embedded systems and software. You collaborate with design, systems, and software teams to embed reliability from concept through deployment, influencing product health and performance. You’ll work with utility customers to improve uptime and reduce lifecycle costs while shaping reliability strategy and standards. This is a remote, impact-focused senior position with a clear mission to strengthen grid reliability.

Responsibilities
- Perform reliability modeling and statistical analysis to predict field performance and guide reliability design decisions
- Develop and execute reliability test plans (hardware-in-the-loop, environmental, stress testing)
- Lead FMEA, FMECA, and RCA for hardware/software failures across embedded systems and communications
- Ensure Design for Reliability (DfR) integration from concept to deployment in cross-functional teams
- Analyze deployed field data to identify systemic issues and recommend corrective actions
- Support grid asset performance programs and modernization initiatives with utilities (IEC 61850, virtualization, diagnostics)
- Maintain reliability KPIs (MTBF, FIT rate, availability) and integrate into development and quality programs
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 7 years in reliability, systems, or product engineering in energy/utilities
