Tasks
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute research programs aligned with business needs.
- Foster disruptive ideas by translating scientific insights into opportunities across groups.
- Provide expert resources to support development projects within innovation portfolios.
- Lead and develop the research organization, including resource planning, staffing, and budgeting.
- Guide the R&D ecosystem and leverage innovation centers for advancing technologies.
- Build and align scientific thought leadership with species focus areas.
- Partner with business leaders to ensure compliance and protect intellectual assets.
- Balance investments across mature and high-growth products to support strategic priorities.
- Oversee budget and resource allocation to enable strategic plans and efficiency gains.
- Support the Strategic Marketing and Technology Innovation engine with customer insights and initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key requirements
- Master’s degree in animal science, veterinary and related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum eight years’ experience in animal nutrition or health focusing on swine or poultry, plus five years of supervisory experience
- Fluent in English
- Willingness to travel 25-30%
- PhD in animal science, veterinary or related field (preferred)
- 15 years of R&D experience in animal nutrition/health, with leadership in a strategic role (preferred)
- Experience building external alliances with research partners and transferring technologies (preferred)
- Broad expertise across animal nutrition in multiple species and related biology (preferred)
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and manage long-term strategic programs (preferred)
