Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership to the Global Clinical Operations team across project management, monitoring, site management, data management, and statistics
Oversee end-to-end operational delivery of global clinical trials, including timelines, budget, enrollment, and risk mitigation
Lead investigator-initiated and collaborative research programs ensuring on-time delivery and defined milestones
Translate corporate initiatives into actionable operational plans with Global Clinical Leads
Establish regular communication of study status, KPIs, and quality standards to ensure efficiency and quality
Develop and implement processes to optimize trial operations within scope, time, budget, and quality
Build competencies within the team through hiring, training, mentoring, and professional development
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in clinical trial operations
Collaborate with Clinical Quality Assurance to develop SOPs, templates, and ensure regulatory readiness
Manage outsourcing strategy for CROs or external vendors and oversee vendor performance
Ensure regulatory compliance across all projects and alignment with global guidelines and Olympus policies
Contribute to the Clinical Affairs mission and strategy over a 3–5 year horizon
Perform other duties as assigned

Key requirements

BA/BS degree in life sciences or related field
Minimum 12 years of device/pharmaceutical industry experience in Clinical Operations with direct strategic study management experience
Experience leading clinical operations teams including data management and statistics
Strong budget and forecasting expertise
Strategic thinking with ability to analyze complex data and scientific information
In-depth knowledge of global regulations and standards (ICH E6 (R2), EU MDR, ISO 14155:2020) and documentation practices
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional teams
Experience in a global matrix environment and working with diverse cultures
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% and manage a global schedule
Scheduling flexibility for a global weekly schedule across time zones
