In this role you will develop and deploy predictive risk models to estimate mishap risk across Navy communities, supporting risk mitigation and operational optimization. You will collaborate with a diverse program team including military and civilian staff, and you will train government personnel on building and refining the predictive analytics portfolio. You will work with multi-type data to uncover safety-related patterns, informing senior leadership decisions. This on-site position at Naval Safety Command Center offers impact at scale within a mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Develop a portfolio of predictive risk models to estimate mishap risk and enable operational improvements
Provide training to Government personnel on building, maintaining, and refining predictive analytics models
Collect and organize diverse data types (manning, maintenance, readiness, tempo, climate, incident reports)
Apply data science and inductive reasoning to identify patterns linked to safety mishaps and support risk mitigation
Participate in technical interchange meetings, analytical updates, and program reviews

Key requirements

Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret Clearance
6+ years of data science experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
4+ years of coding experience in Python, R, or a similar language
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
